Maple Dale Farm

Maple Dale Farm is owned by Dale and Julie Forrester. Dale and Julie were both raised on dairy farms. In addition to milking cows, Dale growing up on his family farm helped make maple syrup, he has a brother who also makes maple syrup. He is 4th generation sugar maker, his family has made maple syrup for over 100 years.

The Forresters married in 1977 and began their own life of family and farming. In 1983 they bought their 1st farm. In 1999 they started their own venture in maple & began to sell maple syrup as Maple Dale Farm. We have 7 children, 6 married. Our oldest daughters husband sells seed corn, also does crop consulting, & she (Joanna) educates people in how to use essential oils in health and wellness. Our second daughter (Mary), with her daughters, make and sell soaps and lotions, Frontier Family Farm.We have 2 daughters (Mary & Leah) (2nd & 3rd) who with their husbands farm together with hogs, Y B Farming, and, corn & beans, Twin Maple Farm. Our middle son (Mark) & family have a maple syrup operation in S Michigan also raises chickens, & corn & beans, Rock N Maple. Our youngest son (Levi) & family have a maple syrup operation in the UP of Michigan, Great Lakes Maple. Our youngest (Anna) & husband have a maple syrup operation in N Indiana, Sweet Beginnings. Of course, they are all busy raising my grandchildren.

We make maple syrup on 10,500 trees, near Atlanta, MI. We produce about 5,000 gallons of maple syrup each year. 2,500 gallon of our syrup gets bottled into containers ranging from 8oz. to 1 Gallon. 500 gallon gets made into Indian Sugar (granulated maple sugar). which we sell by the #, and use for other products...maple mustard, maple nuts, maple rub, waffle mix.

Maple Vinegar is a new product we are working on, but it is a long process. Hopefully, another season will see some results of that.

The balance of our syrup is sold in 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums on a bulk market.

Since 2003, Dale has served and is presently serving on the board of directors for the International Maple Syrup Institute, & Michigan Maple Syrup Association.

We are honored to be maple syrup producers. Our goal is to educate people on the benefits of maple syrup/sugar over refined sugars.

Our farm is organic certified!

We are certified each year by the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA). If you are interested in learning more about organic certification for your sugar bush, we would be happy to talk with you about the process.
